About

Utah Live Steamers was established in 2007 for the purpose of building and operating a 1.6-inch scale, 7.5-inch gauge live steam railroad and share our love and passion for trains with others.

Shay Park, Utah’s First Railroad-Themed Park

The park is located at 385 Aspen Hills Blvd., Saratoga Springs, Utah. Occupying 12 acres, the facilities and amenities include: restrooms, pavilion, a train-themed play ground, two multi-purpose playing fields, and walking and biking trails.

The most historic feature of the park is the abandoned railroad grade of the Salt Lake & Western Railroad, that once ran from Lehi (Cutler Junction) to the Tintic mining district. The main attraction is our 7.5″ gauge operating railroad, featuring approximately 1,900 feet of track that encompasses a portion of the park.

Train rides are offered the third Saturday of each month from Memorial Day weekend thru mid-October. Hours of operation are 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Select holidays and special events are also scheduled, check our calendar for detailed information. All operations are subject to change according to weather and city civic events. Train rides are free; donations are welcome and appreciated.
